On the Sept. 30 episode of SBS’ "Invitation from Bachelor Again", veteran stars Kim Yong-rim and Seo Kwon-soon joined Lee Gwan-hee and came ready to stir the pot.
Known as the queen of the on-screen slap, Seo admitted she’s smacked just about every pretty face she’s worked with.
Im Won-hee asked, “Is it true you once slapped Jang Seo-hee so hard she fainted?”
“In that drama, Jang Seo-hee played my daughter-in-law,” Seo recalled. “I was actually hospitalized at the time, but we had to shoot, and the scene called for a real slap. I couldn’t fake it. The moment I hit her, she dropped to the floor.”
When producers asked her to channel her classic mother-in-law energy, Seo improvised on the spot: “This is what you’re calling a wedding gift? No wonder you’re driving your husband out of the house,” sending the room into laughter.
Later, Lee Gwan-hee was asked which of the two veterans he’d pick as a hypothetical mother-in-law. “Before I came, I thought Kwon-soon would be easier to be around,” he said. “But seeing them here, Yong-rim actually feels softer.”
Kim beamed, telling him, “You’ve got a good eye. You really know how to read people.” Seo playfully pouted, “One split-second choice can change your whole life―and you just made the wrong one,” cracking everyone up.
Despite her tough on-screen image, Kim insisted she’s all charm off camera. “TV ruined me―I kept getting cast in fierce roles,” she joked, before breaking into the viral “cheeseburger” baby-talk aegyo, which had the bachelors in stitches.
Keeping the banter going, Lee Gwan-hee asked the guys which of the two women they’d approach if they walked into a pick-up pub.
Tak Jae-hoon quipped, “Do I have to party with the teachers? I’d just leave.” Kim shot back without missing a beat: “We wouldn’t hang out with you either. Are you kidding? There are plenty of younger guys around,” earning huge laughs.
Pressed to choose between Lee Gwan-hee and Tak Jae-hoon, Kim drew a line: “Don’t ask like that. People aren’t something you pick between two options―everyone has their own charms.”
Lee Sang-min then teased, “But you’re already turning your back on Jae-hoon.” Tak fired off a closer: “The woman I dislike most is the one who shows me her back,” sending the studio into another round of laughter.
