On Oct. 1, Kim announced the news in a video on her YouTube channel.
“After four years of standing by me with great love and trust, MY Q and I decided to become a family,” she shared in the clip.
She added that she received a proposal some time ago but hesitated to make a decision. “I was scared and kept putting it off. But the trust, love, and dedication MY Q has shown me and my children over a long period moved my heart. I realized I shouldn’t let yesterday’s events block who I am today, and I found the courage,” she said.
Kim said the couple plans a small ceremony with only family and close relatives. “As I grow older, I’m learning how much courage it takes to live―and how much encouragement, too. I’ll do my best to live boldly with all the support I’ve received, and I’ll pass that love on to others. Thank you, always,” she said.
The video also shows Kim telling her two sons, Shin-woo and Yi-jun, about the marriage, followed by sweet moments of the four spending time together.
“We’ve been practicing being a family with ‘uncle,’” she told her boys. “I think we’ll be even happier as a real family. We love you now, but that love will only grow.” The kids then ran to hug MY Q to congratulate him, and he replied, “Thank you for accepting me.”
Kim married a businessman, identified in local reports only as “A,” in April 2015 and has two sons. In 2018, he was arrested on charges of illicitly profiting from more than 1,000 investors in a scheme reportedly worth tens of billions of won, and Kim announced their divorce the following year. She has since raised her children as a single mom while documenting her life on YouTube. In 2021, she went public with her relationship with MY Q.
