Kim Kwang-gyu Says He Wants to Manage JANGWONYOUNG, IU and JENNIE on New SBS Series
SecretariesKim Kwang-gyu is already manifesting his dream roster of guests for SBS’ new variety series, playfully admitting he’d love to serve as a one-day manager for JANGWONYOUNG, IU and BLACKPINK’s JENNIE.

At a press conference held Thursday morning in Seoul’s Myeong-dong neighborhood, hosts Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-gyu joined director Kim Jung-wook to unveil SBS’ latest unscripted show, "Manager Seojin", and tease what viewers can expect.

Billed as a road-talk reality that breaks the usual talk-show mold, "Manager Seojin" pairs Lee and Kim as hands-on, one-day managers who shadow celebrities through their schedules, promising the kind of unfiltered, up-close moments you’d only see if you were on their actual team.

The premiere features comedian Lee Su-ji, with Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin―stars of SBS’ upcoming drama "Dynamite Kiss"―set to follow. Veteran actors Sunwoo Yong-nyeo and Uhm Ji-won are also on deck.

Asked which stars they want to “manage,” Lee Seo-jin said he prefers the unexpected. “It’s more fun when it’s someone I don’t already know,” he noted―then ribbed his co-host: “But Kwang-gyu keeps talking about girl groups.”

“It’s not that I personally want girl groups,” Kim protested with a laugh. “I just think viewers would love it. Younger idols light up the screen. And it doesn’t have to be girl groups―boy bands like GOT7 and TVXQ! would be great, too.”

Lee kept the bit going: “He’s lying. He talks about meeting JANGWONYOUNG every day.”

Finally, Kim owned up to his wish list: “JANGWONYOUNG, IU and BLACKPINK’s JENNIE,” he said, before cheekily adding, “H.O.T. would be fine, too,” to soften the stan energy.

"Manager Seojin" premieres Oct. 3 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS.
