Lee Jung-hyun’s first turn behind the camera is headed for the big screen.
According to production banner WaFilm, the short film 'Toe-Tapping Tunes' ― which Lee wrote, directed and stars in ― will launch in an exclusive run at CGV theaters on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
An official selection of the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival’s Korean Cinema section, the film drew warm applause and media attention as the singer-actress brought her singular presence to the director’s chair, channeling years of on-screen emotion into a filmmaker’s gaze.

Drawing on Lee’s own autobiographical experiences, 'Toe-Tapping Tunes' delicately and precisely captures a daughter’s heartrending wish. The short has been invited to leading domestic festivals including the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival, the 21st Mise-en-scene Short Film Festival, the 18th Women’s Human Rights Film Festival, and the 26th Jeju Women’s Film Festival, earning praise for its craft.
On Sunday, Oct. 26, Lee will meet audiences for a post-screening Q&A at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall at 2 p.m. All Q&A ticket holders will receive exclusive merchandise, with details available via CGV’s official website and app.
'Toe-Tapping Tunes' will be available nationwide at CGV Arthouse locations starting Wednesday, Oct. 22.
