Japanese anime feature ‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’ held the No. 1 spot at Korea’s weekend box office for the second straight frame.
According to the Korean Film Council’s KOBIS tally, the film drew 246,146 admissions from the 17th to 19th, lifting its cumulative total to 2,215,586 tickets sold.
After opening on the 24th of last month, ‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’ hovered in the No. 2-3 range behind ‘No Other Choice’ and ‘Boss’ before finally climbing to the top in Week 41. It then repeated at No. 1 this past weekend, crossing the 2 million-admissions mark along the way.
Based on the fan-favorite “Reze” storyline from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s smash-hit manga ‘Chainsaw Man’ (over 30 million copies in circulation worldwide), the film follows Denji ― a boy bonded with the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita ― whose life is upended when he meets the mysterious Reze.
