Actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin just landed lead acting nominations at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, fueling buzz over a possible husband-and-wife sweep.
On the 21st, the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards announced its key categories. "No Other Choice" topped the list with 12 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.
One of the buzziest takeaways: the married power couple going head-to-head in separate lead races. Hyun Bin is up for Best Actor for "Harbin," facing heavyweights Lee Byung-hun, Park Jung-min, Seol Kyung-gu, and Cho Jung-seok.
Son Ye-jin earned a Best Actress nod for "No Other Choice," competing against Song Hye-kyo, Lee Jae-in, Lee Hye-young, and Im Yoon-ah.
The pair married in March 2022 and welcomed a son that November. Since tying the knot, Hyun Bin has rolled out three films―"Confidential Assignment 2: International," "The Point Men," and "Harbin"―while "No Other Choice" marks Son Ye-jin’s first big-screen return post-marriage. With their recent releases arriving about nine months apart, the timing set the stage for them to share the same awards-season spotlight.
Both are expected to attend the ceremony. Whether they’ll be seated together is anyone’s guess, but if they both take home trophies, it would be one for the history books.
