Actors Han Suk-kyu, Yoon Kye-sang, Chu Ja-hyun, Yoo Jae-myung, Kim Jong-soo and Ko Du-shim are teaming up for the Netflix series "Kin and Sin" (working title).

Set on Jeju Island, "Kin and Sin" is a hard-edged noir that tracks three powerful clans―the Bus, the Yangs and the Kos―as they clash to protect their bloodlines and seize control of the island.

The title borrows a Jeju dialect word for extended kin who share ancestral rites―more than relatives, it’s a tight-knit social network unique to the island. Inside that world, the Bu clan has organized itself into a syndicate and dominates the pig-farming and horse-racing businesses; the Yang clan in Jeju City is muscling up through real-estate development; and the Ko clan in Seogwipo, once flush from the casino boom, is now a faded powerhouse. Their colliding interests set the stage for a brutal fight.

Han Suk-kyu―a pillar of Korea’s screen renaissance and the star of "Dr. Romantic"―plays Bu Yong-nam, the Bu patriarch determined to shield his family as a land war among Jeju’s big three erupts.

Yoon Kye-sang ("The Outlaws") is Bu Geon, the Bu clan’s second son and the half-brother of Bu Yong-nam and Bu Yong-seon, battling to secure his standing within the family.

Chu Ja-hyun ("Little Women") takes on Bu Yong-seon, a decisive, no-nonsense force who anchors one wing of the Bu family.

Yoo Jae-myung ("Harbin") portrays Yang Gwang-ik, head of the Yang clan and Bu Yong-nam’s chief rival―patient, predatory and always waiting for the right moment to take the Bus down.

Kim Jong-soo ("Hunt") plays Ko Dae-su, the Seogwipo-based Ko patriarch. Once at the top and now in decline, he’s keeping his head down―until fresh upheaval forces him to evolve to protect the family’s interests.

And Ko Du-shim, whose moving turns in "Our Blues" resonated across generations, joins as the formidable clan elder known locally as “Daepan Halmang.” A Jeju native and a member of the Ko lineage herself, her return to a Jeju-set project is already sparking buzz.

"Kin and Sin" (working title) is directed by Choi Jung-yeol, the filmmaker behind "Vigilante" as well as the feature "Start-Up."

Rooted in Jeju’s singular identity and powered by a stacked ensemble, "Kin and Sin" (working title) will stream on Netflix.
