Live, Unscripted News Show 'News Hunters' Debuts October 28
News HuntersSBS is rolling out a new kind of nightly news show, "News Hunters", premiering Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Billed as a fresh, after-hours news talker, "News Hunters" tracks the day’s biggest headlines―and the under-the-radar stories you haven’t heard yet―pairing sharp analysis with real-time, unscripted conversation. Each night, the show spotlights the hottest topic of the day for a freewheeling, live exchange between the host and guest, no scripts required.

In its marquee segment, "Issue Bang", key newsmakers and top experts sit down for no-holds-barred live talk. The show zeroes in on the single most critical angle and digs past the headline to deliver context, insight, and takeaways. Viewer questions pulled in during the broadcast are answered on the spot, keeping the conversation interactive.

Global Now takes a deeper look at the U.S., Donald Trump, and major international developments in diplomacy, security, politics, and the economy that directly affect South Korea. Former SBS New York correspondent and economics/international news specialist Lee Hyun-sik joins field experts to unpack the stories with breadth and nuance.

Another key segment, "X-File", focuses on "News Hunters"-exclusive scoops around crime, social injustices, and incidents that spark public outrage. Rather than chasing shock value, the team tackles issues worth thinking about―and opens the floor for dialogue with viewers.

"News Hunters" is hosted by reporter Kim Jong-won and anchor Park Sun-young. A former New York correspondent, Kim built a loyal following on SBS’s YouTube channel VIDEOMUG with a two-year run of the “Ear-Hit Jong-won” segment, known for lively, in-depth breakdowns of the economy, industry, and policy. He’s also a veteran of SBS’s investigative unit “Digging to the End,” credited with uncovering numerous exclusives.

Park Sun-young, who anchored SBS 8 News for seven years, returns to the network five years after going freelance to co-host "News Hunters". Drawing on her broad on-air experience, she plans to land the figures driving the national conversation for candid, deep-dive interviews.

Positioned as a trustworthy alternative to traditional newscasts, SBS’s "News Hunters" airs Monday through Friday and premieres Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6:50 p.m. KST.
