Actor Jinyoung is heading to the Golden Horse Film Festival, the most prestigious event in the Chinese-language film world.
On the morning of the 25th, Management RUN announced, “Jinyoung will attend the Golden Horse Film Festival with the Taiwanese original film ‘The Photo from 1977.’ We’re excited for his first major step into the Chinese-language market and ask for your support as he begins this new chapter.”
Touted in Cannes trade dailies as one of the year’s most anticipated Taiwanese titles, “The Photo from 1977” is set in Zhongli, Taiwan, in 1977. The period romance follows three young dreamers who chase their ambitions through the lens of a camera and sheer grit. Jinyoung stars opposite Taiwan’s breakout actress Moon Lee.
Officially invited to one of the longest-running and most revered festivals in the region, Jinyoung will represent “The Photo from 1977” among a gathering of top actors and filmmakers from across Asia.

Jinyoung reportedly spent several months in Taiwan for the shoot, immersing himself on set and working solely in the local language. The Golden Horse invitation carries added weight as part of that bold leap as an actor.
After festival screenings on November 17 and 18, Jinyoung will join his first post-screening Q&As, followed by a packed slate of local media interviews and a photo shoot―underscoring his deep commitment to the project.
Distributed by Warner Bros., “The Photo from 1977” opens in Taiwan on December 24, Christmas Eve.
