Actress Park Bo-mi is opening up about unimaginable loss―and a new chapter of joy.
On the Oct. 28 broadcast of TV CHOSUN’s “Our Baby Is Born Again” (literal title), the star reflects on saying goodbye to her 15-month-old son, Si-mon, two years ago, and shares the happy news that she has since welcomed a baby girl.
Joined by her husband, former pro soccer player-turned-coach Park Yo-han, Park sits down with the show’s “Birth Correspondents,” Park Soo-hong and Jang Seo-hee, to revisit the memories of their firstborn. Si-mon passed away at 15 months after a sudden febrile seizure led to cardiac arrest.
“When we heard about your loss, the whole country was stunned,” Park Soo-hong says, offering comfort. Fighting back tears, Park Bo-mi recalls, “He suddenly stiffened in my arms and went limp. I cried to my husband, ‘I think Si-mon is gone. He won’t wake up.’” Park Yo-han breaks down as well, moving the hosts to tears.
Nearly two years later, a new blessing arrived. On Oct. 2, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Park Si-eun.
Amid an outpouring of congratulations, the pair also shared their love story―revealing they met on a blind date set up by actress Lee Ye-rim, daughter of veteran comedian Lee Kyung-kyu. “The moment I met him, his confidence drew me in,” Park says. “We chatted for four hours on our first date,” prompting playful envy from Jang Seo-hee.
