In episode 6, airing Oct. 28, Jeremy and Lee Ji-hoon ― both with choir backgrounds ― go head-to-head, trading friendly fire while gunning for a win that gets the 100-member “Top Ears” panel buzzing.
Round 2 opens with Jeremy tackling Yoo Jae-ha’s "Gloomy Letter," while Lee Ji-hoon follows with Park Sang-tae’s "If You Feel the Same as Me," each leaning into a distinct vibe. Lee, who grew up on Kim Kwang-seok, previously drew a candid note from self-professed audition-show superfan Cha Tae-hyun: he sounded a bit like he was doing a Kim Kwang-seok impression and needed to find his own color. He returns with a performance meant to answer that challenge.
But after Lee’s take on "If You Feel the Same as Me," Cha reaches for the mic and, “Sorry, I’m ready to take the heat,” he begins ― and then doesn’t mince words, setting the room on edge. What, exactly, did Lee hear from Cha? Curiosity is at a high.
Elsewhere, former major-agency trainee Kim Yoon-i faces Seoul National University student Kim Min-a in a “seasons” showdown. Kim Yoon-i chooses 015B’s "From January to June," while Kim Min-a taps Lee Yong’s autumn staple "The Forgotten Season" for an emotion-forward stage.
One of them even earns a rare standing ovation from Jung Jae-hyung ― a moment the show almost never sees, teasing big intrigue over whose performance won him over.
With contestants averaging just 18 years old putting fresh spins on classic ballads, "The Ballad of Us" aims to dial up the nostalgia. The SBS series airs tonight, Oct. 28, at 9 p.m. KST.
