Incheon’s Yeonsu Police said on the 30th that two men in their 20s and 30s, identified only as A and B, were taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and unlawful confinement.
After a pretrial detention hearing held the previous afternoon, a warrant judge at the Incheon District Court granted the arrests, citing risk of flight, the danger of the alleged crime, and the seriousness of the case.
The suspects allegedly lured gaming YouTuber “Sutak” to an underground parking lot in Songdo-dong, Incheon, around 10:40 p.m. on the 26th under the pretense of paying him money, assaulted him, forced him into a car, and drove roughly 125 miles to Geumsan in South Chungcheong Province. Acting on a report from an associate identified as C, police tracked the vehicle and made an on-site arrest in South Chungcheong about four hours later.
Sutak, who has roughly 1 million subscribers, told investigators he believed the suspects owed him money, according to police. Authorities are now probing the financial relationship, possible motive, and whether additional accomplices were involved.
