NCT members DOYOUNG, 29, and JUNGWOO, 27, will begin their mandatory military service on the same day.
On Oct. 30, SM Entertainment announced that both stars will enter a training center on Dec. 8. DOYOUNG will serve as an active-duty soldier in the Army, while JUNGWOO has been accepted into the Army band and will begin his service there.
There will be no official send-off event on enlistment day. “To ensure safety at the site, where many soldiers and their families will be present, we ask fans to refrain from visiting,” the label said.
SM added, “Please continue to support DOYOUNG and JUNGWOO so they can fulfill their duties and return healthy.”
DOYOUNG debuted in 2016 with NCT U, and JUNGWOO followed in 2018, quickly becoming fan favorites. The pair are core members of NCT 127 and also promote as the trio unit NCT DoJaeJung. DOYOUNG made his solo debut in April of last year.
