Built on the catalog of K-pop icon Seo Taiji, the original musical PESTE is staging a concert to signal a bold new reboot―and it’s already generating buzz. In a rare public note, Seo shared his first message in a year, wishing the production a successful run and fans a shot of hope.
“This Is PESTE,” a concert-style staging, kicks off today (Oct. 31) and runs through Sunday, Nov. 2, for a three-night engagement at Yonsei University’s Main Auditorium. Designed as a statement of intent―“This is PESTE”―the event teases the musical direction of New Peste, the full-scale production set to launch in 2025.

The biggest shift this time is an expanded setlist. Beyond the debut run’s focus on his solo-era material, the concert folds in signature Seo Taiji and Boys hits―“I Know,” “Come Back Home,” and “Classroom Idea”―in a major way. It’s a rare chance to hear these songs with full band arrangements, something fans haven’t experienced on this scale since his 25th-anniversary shows in 2017.
Onstage, NCT’s JUNGWOO joins rising actor Won Tae-min, acclaimed musical lead Park Young-soo, and powerhouse vocalist HYNN (Park Hye-won), greeting audiences after a month of intensive rehearsals.
Though he’s stepped back from public activity, Seo typically sends fans a year-end note every Dec. 24. Ahead of the concert, he issued an official message that raised anticipation even higher.

“I’m thrilled to see a concert heralding PESTE’s return after 10 years. I’ve been following the process closely. I hope all the sweat and heart the cast and crew poured in lead to a powerful show that delivers hope and moving moments to many in the audience.”
