MIYEON of I-DLE returns today with a mini-album steeped in late-autumn mood.
The singer drops her second mini set, "MY, Lover", at 6 p.m. KST across digital platforms. Arriving three and a half years after her 2022 debut mini "MY", the seven-track project showcases a more mature, fully realized sound from the artist.
Last year, MIYEON previewed her singer-songwriter chops by unveiling the self-penned "Sky Walking" during a world tour solo stage. On Oct. 28, she set the tone for this comeback with the pre-release single "Reno" (Feat. Colde), drawing praise for its striking shift in vibe.
If MY introduced MIYEON herself, "MY, Lover" maps the many faces of love―breakup, lingering feelings, regret, reflection, healing, and devotion―closing with a moment of facing a wiser, more grounded self.
MIYEON took a hands-on role across the project, further sharpening her musical identity. She co-wrote the tracks "F.F.L.Y" and "You And No One Else". The album also features the title track "Say My Name" alongside "Space Invader", "Petal Shower", "Show", and more.
"Reno" (Feat. Colde) rides a brooding electric-guitar loop and heavy beat, tracing the moment love warps into obsession and heads for a crash―carried by MIYEON’s chameleon-like vocals. Colde’s singular tone adds a taut, uneasy edge.
The western-noir-inspired music video, starring actor Cha Woo-min, turns up the intensity with MIYEON’s portrayal of love gone mad. Upon release, the track vaulted into the upper tiers of domestic and international streaming charts, stoking anticipation for her solo return.
Title track "Say My Name" is a fall-ready pop ballad. Delicate piano lines and a rhythmic pulse frame MIYEON’s soaring vocals, channeling the ache of goodbye.
In the concept photos, MIYEON stands alone against a monochrome backdrop, visually echoing the song’s solitude. The music video arriving with the track today promises sleek, distinctive visuals.
