The film ‘The World of Love’ has topped 70,000 admissions nationwide just 15 days after release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracking on the 5th, the movie drew 3,508 moviegoers on the 4th to land at No. 4 for the day. Its cumulative admissions stand at 72,589.

Now in its third week and playing on a modest footprint of just over 200 screens with roughly 400 showtimes, the title is steadily building through word of mouth and is on track to crack 100,000 admissions. Post-screening Q&As and endorsements from industry heavyweights―including director Bong Joon-ho, writer Kim Eun-hee, and stars Kim Hye-soo, Park Jung-min, and Park Bo-young―have also helped amplify buzz.

‘The World of Love’ follows an inscrutable 18-year-old high schooler named Joo-in, who refuses to sign a schoolwide petition and soon starts receiving mysterious notes. The film is directed by Yoon Ga-eun ('The World of Us,' 'The House of Us') and stars newcomer Seo Su-bin.

With ‘The World of Love,’ Yoon Ga-eun surpasses her previous personal best at the box office; "The House of Us" sold 56,852 tickets.
