Actress Jang Ga-hyun, 48, has opened up about being bullied during her school years.
In a recent social media post, Jang wrote that she became a prime target “the moment I transferred,” recalling how the school’s troublemakers surrounded her and made her life miserable.
She described constant harassment―being tripped, pelted with paper from behind, and cursed at―claiming it all started because she liked the same boy they did. Eventually, she said, she stood up to the ringleader and won the fight, but the girl’s older sister, who had done time in juvenile detention, rounded up friends and “we were beaten as a group.”
Years later, after she began appearing regularly on TV, Jang says she received an unexpected DM from the former bully: “How have you been?” “Remember me?” and that she wanted to see her. “I was stunned,” Jang wrote, adding that the message brought back “awful memories.” She concluded, “It was hard back then, but I’m okay now.”
Jang first worked as a racing model before gaining wider recognition on KBS2’s "Love and War." These days, she connects with fans on social media, sharing everyday moments and candid thoughts.
