A YouTuber in her 30s accused of repeatedly stabbing a male livestreamer during his broadcast has filed a string of apology letters ahead of her first court appearance.
According to legal sources on the 11th, YouTuber A―indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon―submitted apology letters to the court on three consecutive days between the 6th and 10th, in a case now before a single-judge bench (Criminal Division 6) at the Bucheon branch of the Incheon District Court. A day earlier, on the 5th, victim B petitioned the court, urging a tough sentence for the defendant.
Prosecutors say that in September, A confronted B―a livestreamer also in his 30s―on a stairwell inside a commercial building in Bucheon’s Wonmi-gu, Gyeonggi Province, and stabbed him multiple times while he was on air. B sustained injuries to his abdomen and hand and was transported to a hospital; his condition was not life-threatening.
Immediately after the attack, A called South Korea’s emergency line (112) to report the incident and then surrendered. Police carried out an emergency arrest at her residence. During questioning, she reportedly said they knew each other and that she acted in the heat of the moment.
The defendant’s first hearing is scheduled for the morning of the 12th.
