On the Nov. 11 episode of "Invitation from Bachelor Again", Paul Kim admitted he rarely voices his opinion in front of his wife.
The cast kept shutting down any hint of romance from real-life couple Jason Written and Hong Hyun-hee, grumbling whenever the two showed affection and instantly killing the mood.
“Jason is just built different,” Hong said, praising her husband. “He’s got such a healthy mindset.” When the members shot back, “So what does that make us?” she quipped, “Rotten to the core,” sending everyone into laughter.
Paul Kim then revealed the only two phrases he dares to say at home: “Yes,” or “Can I have a few minutes?”―a confession that stunned the room.
“Sometimes you’re wiped out after work and you don’t hang your clothes up right away,” he began. Lee Sang-min immediately took the wives’ side: “Your partner doesn’t know what your day outside was like. No matter how hard it is out there, you still need to handle things at home.”
“Okay, Judge,” Hong chimed in. Lee doubled down with a self-roast: “Want to hear something sad? I met a judge in 2006. It was the first time I’d seen someone lay things out that clearly―point by point.” The studio erupted.
Tak Jae-hoon piled on, joking, “That judge must’ve had a soft spot for you. Should’ve given you life.”
Comedian Shin Gi-ru jumped in with her own brand of candor, saying she eats more than her husband and joking about having been “wild” back in the day. She also revealed she’d recently been offered a bikini photoshoot.
“I once said I wanted to shoot a semi-nude at my current size, and a major magazine actually reached out,” she shared. “They wanted a bikini spread. Even Maxim commented that they were interested.” Tak cracked, “What’s going on over there―are they closing up shop?” drawing more laughs.
Later, Paul Kim―who usually only performs at close friends’ weddings―explained why he made a rare exception for Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, despite not knowing the couple personally.
When someone teased that he only says yes to A-list requests, Paul answered honestly: “I’ll be real―I wanted to go to their wedding. I wanted to see them in person.” His candid admission struck a chord with the cast and viewers alike.
