Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin shared a career-defining night at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, taking home the top acting prizes side by side.
At the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards held Wednesday at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, Hyun Bin won Best Actor for "Harbin," while Son Ye-jin claimed Best Actress for "No Other Choice."
It marked Hyun Bin’s first-ever acting win at the Blue Dragons. For Son, it was a triumphant return to the category 17 years after her 2008 Best Actress win for "My Wife Got Married."
Buzz had been building since the nominations were announced: The A-list couple, who married in 2022, rarely appear together at official events, especially after Son stepped back from acting for marriage and motherhood. He released "Harbin" last December; she made her screen comeback with "No Other Choice" in September, putting them on a collision course for the season’s biggest stage.
They arrived separately on the red carpet but sat together inside―and the night turned into a double sweep. The pair first shared a Popularity Award, then capped the ceremony by winning Best Actor and Best Actress, drawing the evening’s brightest spotlight.
Their acceptance speeches melted the room. Hyun Bin thanked “Ye-jin, whose very presence gives me strength,” and added a tender shout-out to their son. Moments later, Son replied in kind, saying she was sharing the joy “with the two men I love most in this world―Kim Tae-pyung (Hyun Bin’s given name) and our baby, Kim Woo-jin.”
It’s the first time in Blue Dragon history that a married couple has won the lead acting trophies in the same year.
