Koyote’s Shinji, 44, is clearing the air about her fiancé, MoonOne, 37, as the couple heads toward a wedding next year.
Appearing on Jang Young-ran’s YouTube channel “A-Class Jang Young-ran,” Shinji said a recent meet-and-greet video with her Koyote bandmates stirred up a wave of trolling and wild theories. “Once the fortune-telling and face-reading takes started circulating, the comments were all ‘something feels off’ and ‘he’s in it for the money,’” she shared.
Addressing MoonOne’s past, she noted he was previously married and has a daughter who lives with his ex-wife. “I knew everything before we started dating,” she said. “I’d already told my bandmates―it was just formally brought up at the sit-down.”
One line that fueled misunderstanding was MoonOne saying he “didn’t know she was famous.” Shinji clarified, “He meant he didn’t realize the ripple effect would be this big. A selectively edited clip made it sound worse, and he’s not the smoothest talker to begin with.”
As for the “he came for the money” chatter, Shinji drew a firm line: “He’s doing just fine on his own.”
She recalled they first crossed paths on a radio program, then became a couple after a concert when he asked, “Can today be Day One?” Describing her fiancé, she said, “He’s steady, broad-shouldered, and incredibly attentive. I’ve even made him cry a few times when I scolded him, but he’s the first person who really knows how to handle me―That’s what won me over.”
While keeping the exact date under wraps, Shinji confirmed they plan to marry next year. Weathering the backlash only strengthened their bond, and the two are currently nesting together in a quiet new home. “We don’t really fight, though I still do the scolding,” she joked. “He says the commute home makes him giddy and happy.”
Wedding buzz first sparked in June when their pre-wedding photo shoot made headlines. The pair met through MBC Radio’s “Single Bungle Show” and became an official couple late last year.
