NOWZ is ready to swing for the fences. The Cube Entertainment rookie boy band drops its third single 'Play Ball' across digital platforms at 6 p.m. KST today (Nov. 26), led by title track 'HomeRUN.' The three-track set ― 'HomeRUN,' 'GET BUCK' and 'In an Unnamed World' (literal title)― shows off a wider sonic palette and bolder moves.
Ahead of the release, the group posted a second music video teaser for 'HomeRUN' on its official socials. Set against a baseball stadium backdrop, the clip highlights precision group choreography and a surging EDM pulse, hinting at another full-throttle sprint from NOWZ.
# A Game-Changing Swing From NOWZ
The title track 'HomeRUN' is an EDM-driven dance cut anchored by a heavy drop and no-holds-barred rap verses, capturing the rush of youth turning uncertainty into opportunity. On a stage that evokes the heat of the diamond, the song stakes a claim to keep charging toward the top.
The old-school hip-hop b-side 'GET BUCK' channels a win-on-our-terms mindset powered by trust in one another. Blending acoustic guitar with dreamy synths, 'In an Unnamed World' sits on the edge of reality and fantasy, exploring the flutter ― and freedom ― of stepping into the unknown.
# The Heart Behind the Baseball Concept
NOWZ continues to shape a sound of its own, with JINHYUK contributing lyrics to 'HomeRUN' and SIYUN penning on 'GET BUCK.' Like the classic first-pitch call ― "Play ball!" ― each release signals a fresh start and relentless growth.
Before the single’s arrival, the group turned heads at a JTBC 'A Clean Sweep' game. Even ahead of their baseball-themed rollout, the members were already leaning into the sport; special guest commentator Lee Chan-won praised them on-air, saying they’re remarkably skilled and genuinely grounded.
# After a Rebrand, The Grind Continues
Back in July, NOWZ unveiled its first mini album 'IGNITION' alongside a rebrand. After dabbling in alternative rock and cinematic pop on that set, the new single leans into EDM while stretching further into old-school hip-hop and ballad territory.
Fresh off global stages ― including the Waterbomb Macau festival ― NOWZ was recently spotlighted by Billboard as a K-pop Rookie of the Month, earning praise for versatility built on strong fundamentals. With 'HomeRUN,' the group kicks off its year-end run for the top of the charts.
