Nah Sang-hyun of Band Nah has withdrawn a legal complaint over an online post accusing him of inappropriate contact at a drinking gathering, his label says, adding the anonymous writer was a minor and has issued a written apology.
On the 28th, January Co. said in a press statement that after filing a complaint for spreading false information, they received what they described as a sincere apology and an apology letter, and submitted paperwork on the 26th to drop the case.
The accusation surfaced in May, when an anonymous user alleged Nah had groped women at a past hangout. Nah posted an apology the following day, which many took as an acknowledgment. The company later clarified the post was made out of “moral responsibility,” insisting the allegations were not true.
January Co. said, through the writer’s parents and legal representative, they confirmed the poster was a minor and in a significantly vulnerable state. After receiving an apology letter and signing a settlement, they withdrew the complaint, emphasizing that no money changed hands.
The label added it is pursuing several additional complaints centered on misinformation―not to punish, it said, but to quickly clear up rumors around its artist. It also acknowledged its initial response to the controversy was mishandled and pledged to better protect its artists’ rights going forward.
In the wake of the controversy, Band Nah stepped off lineups for Seoul Jazz Festival 2025, the 2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, and the 2025 Busan International Rock Festival. FC Seoul also paused use of the band’s club anthem “Our Seoul,” starting with the May 24 match against Suwon FC.
The group is now gearing up to resume activities, launching its “Summer Light 2025” club tour and joining the bill for Someday Festival 2025.
