YouTuber Sutak Details Harrowing 4-Hour Kidnapping & 1 Billion Won Ransom Threat

YouTuber Sutak recounted a terrifying four-hour abduction on a livestream, saying he was beaten with a baseball bat by a group tied to a used-car dealer who demanded 1 billion won.

On Dec. 1, Sutak walked viewers through his dealings with a used-car broker identified only as “A.” According to Sutak, the broker first emailed him asking to borrow 30 million won. After repeated requests, the money was eventually repaid. The broker later claimed he needed a 200 million won deposit to “hold” a rare vehicle, then disappeared around the agreed repayment date. Sutak says he even provided an additional 50 million won to secure the car, but the broker kept stalling with promises to return the funds ― until everything spiraled.

“I went down to the apartment garage because there are a lot of security cameras there,” Sutak said. “They told me to get in the car to sign a settlement. When I looked inside, I saw a man wearing work gloves hiding. I immediately called 112 [Korea’s emergency number]. The dealer denied everything at first, but as soon as the call ended, they turned on me. Several of them attacked at once and beat me with a baseball bat.” He added that during the abduction, the group threatened him: “The police won’t come,” “If you don’t come up with 1 billion won, you’re dead,” and “We’ve done this three times before.”

Now recovering from serious facial injuries, Sutak said the suspects are in custody, but the trauma lingers. “I feel like someone’s hiding around every corner. My heart races when I hear footsteps behind me. It’s infuriating that I can’t do the most basic things because of them,” he shared, adding that he intends to keep streaming: “I did nothing wrong, and I won’t hide. Continuing my work is how I won’t fall apart.”

The Incheon Yeonsu Police Department arrested two men ― one in his 20s and another in his 30s ― on charges including attempted murder after they allegedly abducted Sutak from an underground garage in Songdo and drove him roughly 200 kilometers to Geumsan, South Chungcheong Province. Police apprehended the suspects in the early morning, about four hours after the incident began, following a pursuit.
