On SBS Plus and ENA's dating show "I Am Solo", Season 28 standouts Kwang-soo and Jung-hee teamed up on radio to introduce their new single, "With," which arrived Dec. 1.
Appearing together on the Dec. 2 episode of SBS Radio's "Your Afternoon with Jungyup," Jung-hee (real name Kim Seul-gi) and Kwang-soo (Baek Sang-yeob) shared the story behind the track and opened up about their relationship. The pair turned heads in coordinated all-black looks, with Kwang-soo joking it was Jung-hee's idea.
Written and composed by Kwang-soo and sung by Jin Min-ho, "With" captures the rush of feelings he had after meeting Jung-hee. "People said it's so sweet it'll give you a cavity," he laughed, adding, "I may not be the most poetic, but I bottled the nerves and flutter I felt on the show. Watching it back, I couldn't help but keep looking at Jung-hee."
Jung-hee admitted she didn't realize at first the song was about them. "I knew he was working on music, but I didn't know it was our story," she said. The secret nearly slipped when a phone call came through in the car while Kwang-soo was quietly prepping the surprise.
Deeply moved by the gesture, Jung-hee said, "I listen to it three or four times a day." She added that she used to keep her emotions guarded, but meeting Kwang-soo "broke down the walls," and now she finds herself expressing everything to him "like a baby."
Before signing off, they exchanged heartfelt messages. "Baby, thank you for showing up in my life, even if a little late. I hope we keep holding hands for a long, long time. I love you," Kwang-soo said. Jung-hee replied, "I won't forget the way you've loved me. Let's cherish each other, and one day, I hope we're happily living together with our kids."
The couple first won viewers' hearts on "I Am Solo" Season 28 Divorced Singles special, where Jung-hee, a dentist and single mom, and Kwang-soo, a single dad, left the show as a final couple.
