With BTS’ full-group return on the horizon next year, the group’s youngest member, JUNGKOOK, has been tapped for a solo Rolling Stone cover and exclusive interview through a rare global collaboration across the magazine’s international editions.

On Dec. 1 (local time), Rolling Stone announced the “JUNGKOOK Global Cover Project,” uniting its Japan, Korea, U.K., India, France, Brazil, Philippines and China editions. Three alternate covers will roll out across Rolling Stone Japan, Korea and the U.K. on Dec. 8, with an exclusive teaser already live.

The milestone marks the first time a K-pop soloist has fronted Rolling Stone. JUNGKOOK shattered digital records with his 2023 smash “Seven,” which BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed surpassed 2.5 billion streams on Spotify in August―an all-time first for a K-pop track, outpacing BTS’ own blockbuster “Dynamite.” His solo catalog has amassed 9.4 billion streams overall, making him the most-streamed K-pop solo artist to date.

BTS, including JUNGKOOK, completed mandatory military service this past summer and began gearing up in July for a full-group comeback set for next year.
