Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo’s new film "Project Y" will hit theaters on January 21, 2026.
Set in the heart of a glittering metropolis, the thriller follows Mi-seon and Do-kyung, two women clawing for a different tomorrow who make a last-ditch play at the edge of the cliff: lifting a cache of dirty money and gold bars. The ensemble features Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rok, Jung Young-joo, Lee Jae-gyun, YOOA and Kim Sung-cheol.
After premiering in the Special Presentations section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, "Project Y" was officially invited to the 30th Busan International Film Festival and went on to win Best Film at the 10th London Asian Film Festival, drawing attention on the global festival circuit.
New character posters released with the date spotlight seven sharply drawn personalities, each paired with a line that nails their vibe. Mi-seon (Han So-hee), sprinting in a flashy faux-fur jacket, warns, “If this goes wrong, we could really die,” laying bare how close they are to the edge.
In the chilly night streets, Do-kyung (Jeon Jong-seo) stares ahead with resolve: “If we’re doing this, we’re going all in,” hinting at a dangerous choice to upend their lives. Ga-young (Kim Shin-rok) cuts in with a razor gaze and, “Looks like you really stirred up trouble,” while Hwang-so (Jung Young-joo) radiates menace: “Hold on for dear life.” Seok-gu (Lee Jae-gyun) sneers, “Get real. Know your place,” and Ha-kyung (YOOA) adds a chilling note: “Get it together―I own you.”
Finally, Boss To (Kim Sung-cheol) delivers an icy closer―“Time to end this”―teasing breakneck stakes and momentum to come.
Kicking off 2026, "Project Y" opens in theaters January 21.
