On the Dec. 6 episode, the star-studded Eagles square up against the JYP Entertainment producer’s seasoned team. Even the teaser has fans asking, “Is this really a variety show?” as both sides trade buckets and bruises in a high-intensity back-and-forth.
Led by J.Y. Park, BPM is a veteran unit known for sharpening its chemistry with weekly games. The brand-new Rising Eagles may boast big names, but their true on-court level remains untested. In their debut, players hit the floor for loose balls, battled hard on the boards and argued calls with a pro-level edge.
An early-release clip shows Seo and assistant coach Jeon Tae-poong anxiously tracking mounting fouls. A borderline call only turns up the heat: after a heavy collision with Kim Taek, a BPM player yells “Offense!” and Kim snaps back, “How is that an offensive foul?!” The tension spikes as the coaches push for composure and control.
"Rising Eagles" follows Seo and Jeon as they handpick what they bill as the strongest celebrity hoops team to chase regional bragging rights across Asia. The roster features captain MINHO (SHINee), Jeong Jin-woon (2AM), JOHNNY (NCT), Moon Su-in, Kim Taek, Oh Seung-hoon, Park Eun-seok, Son Tae-jin, Lee Dae-hee, Jung Kyu-min and Park Chan-woong. Since its premiere, the series has cracked Netflix’s Top 10, underscoring its breakout buzz.
The Rising Eagles vs. BPM showdown airs Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. KST on SBS.
