Park Na-rae's Shows Drop, Edit or Halt Amid Controversy
Park Na-raeComedian Park Na-rae has stepped away from the spotlight following allegations of workplace abuse toward former managers and questions over possible illegal medical treatments. In the wake of her hiatus, multiple shows have begun moving to scrub or minimize her appearances.

MBC’s "I Live Alone," which Park has been a fixture on for more than nine years, issued a statement on Dec. 8 saying producers “did not take this matter lightly” and, after internal discussions and acknowledging Park’s intention to pause activities, decided to suspend her participation in the show.

Producers of tvN’s "Amazing Saturday" also said they respect Park’s decision to halt activities and that she will not take part in upcoming tapings.

MBC’s "Where Is My Home" announced that, following Park’s exit, her appearances will be discontinued and that pre-taped segments will be edited as much as possible to reduce her presence.

Separately, MBC’s new variety series "NaDoShinNa" (working title), which had not yet premiered, has halted production entirely.

Producers explained that "NaDoShinNa," originally slated to air in January, stopped after discussions that took into account Park’s intent to step back. The travel reality was set to star longtime best friends Park Na-rae, Jang Do-yeon, Shin Giru, and Heo Anna―its title itself nodding to their names―and several shoots were reportedly already completed. The abrupt controversy and hiatus have now put that footage on ice.

Park had also been lined up for MBC’s upcoming "Palm Oil Trip" (working title) alongside fellow “Palm Oil” members Jun Hyun-moo and Lee Jang-woo, as well as Disney+’s "Destiny War 49" (working title). Depending on how long her break lasts, those projects may reconfigure casts or adjust schedules.

The turmoil escalated after Park’s former managers filed police complaints alleging verbal abuse and aggravated assault, and further claimed she received unlawful injections and proxy prescriptions from a so-called “injection aunt”. Park’s side countered that the ex-managers made baseless claims and demanded a sum equal to 10% of the company’s previous year’s revenue, prompting an extortion complaint and a separate plan to file for embezzlement. On the medical allegations, her team said she received IV treatments from a licensed physician.

Amid the back-and-forth, Park said on Dec. 8 that―with help―she finally met face-to-face with her former managers and was able to clear up misunderstandings, hinting at a possible resolution. Even so, she expressed remorse and announced she would suspend all broadcast activities until matters are fully settled, saying she doesn’t want to burden her shows or colleagues.
