NCT's DOYOUNG is treating fans to new music as he heads into military service: the singer is releasing the two-track single "Promise" today (Dec. 9).
The single hits global streaming platforms at 6 p.m. KST, with the music video for the title track "Promise" premiering simultaneously on the SMTOWN YouTube channel.
The set features two songs ― the title track and "Whistle (Feat. BELLE of KISS OF LIFE)" ― crafted as a warm thank-you to the fans who have stood by him.

Anchored by minimalist piano that swells into sweeping strings, "Promise" is a tender ballad that spotlights DOYOUNG's emotive vocals. He wrote the lyrics himself to address his beloved ― words that were hard to say out loud; even if they come late, they land with weight.
In the music video, a potted clover ― a long-running symbol between DOYOUNG and his fans ― stands in for gratitude and a hint of apology. Scenes of changing seasons underscore his message: even while he’s away, he won’t forget. The clip plays like a parting gift made just for them.
The B-side "Whistle (Feat. BELLE of KISS OF LIFE)" is an R&B ballad that captures the flutter of trading signals by whistle. Over jazzy guitar, DOYOUNG and Belle weave their vocals like a conversation, dialing up the sweetness.
DOYOUNG entered active-duty service in the South Korean Army on Dec. 8. He is scheduled to be discharged on June 7, 2027.
