The legendary variety duo Country Kko Kko is getting back together on YouTube. Tak Jae-hoon, 57, and Shin Jung-hwan, 51, are set to reunite on the hit online show "No Back Tak", marking their first on-camera pairing in eight years.
According to local reports on Dec. 9, Shin joined the taping as a guest and finally wrapped a segment he began earlier but couldn’t finish after another guest’s shoot ran long. The episode is slated to drop Dec. 17.
It’s the duo’s first reunion since Mnet’s 2017 series "Project S: Devil’s Talent Donation." Country Kko Kko broke out in 1998 with “Oh! Happy,” then parlayed their momentum into variety dominance through the mid-to-late 2000s. Their run stalled in 2010 when Shin halted activities amid controversy over gambling in the Philippines and a now-infamous “dengue fever” lie. Tak also stepped away in 2013 following illegal gambling charges before returning and rebuilding his presence across multiple variety shows.
Despite a difficult path back, Shin has cautiously resurfaced via YouTube appearances. In February, he wryly remarked that he ends up apologizing “every five years over one dengue fever photo.”
