Shin Dong-yup Returns to Host SBS Drama Awards for Ninth Straight Year, Joined by Chae Won-bin & Heo Nam-jun
SBS Drama AwardsShin Dong-yup will return to the 2025 SBS Drama Awards as lead host, with actors Chae Won-bin and Heo Nam-jun joining him to round out a three-host lineup.

The live ceremony is set for Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. KST. The trio will guide the year-end celebration, wrapping a standout 12 months for SBS dramas.

A fixture of the franchise, Shin extends his record to nine consecutive years at the helm. Beloved for his quick wit and sure-handed pacing, he’s become the defining face of the SBS Drama Awards―and expectations are high for another effortless, crowd-pleasing turn.

Chae Won-bin and Heo Nam-jun step in as fresh faces. Both are leads in SBS’s marquee IPs slated for the first half of the year―“Sold Out Again Today” and “Cool New World” (literal title)―making their co-hosting gigs especially timely. Teaming with Shin, the pair is expected to deliver lively, quick-fire banter throughout the night.

This year’s concept is “God-Tier SBS.” Kicking off 2025 with "Love Scout" as the first Friday-Saturday drama, flexing the strength of well-made seasonal storytelling with "Taxi Driver 3," and seeing “Dynamic Kiss” rise to No. 1 on Netflix’s Non-English TV chart just three weeks after its premiere, SBS continues to supercharge K-drama’s global footprint. With K-culture’s influence peaking worldwide, anticipation is surging for what the drama powerhouse will bring to the Drama Awards stage.
