Kwon Sang-hoon ― who rose to fame in the Pobangteo Market arc of SBS’s “Paik Jong-won’s Alley Restaurant” ― shared a heartfelt life update and a long message of gratitude to The Born Korea CEO Paik Jong-won.
Posting on Dec. 9, Kwon said his connection with Paik has continued well beyond their 2018 episode. He shared a family snap and reflected on how the TV mentor kept in touch and offered guidance over the years.
Kwon, who appears to have visited Paik’s office with his wife and baby, wrote that he’s received “countless help” from Paik. “He leads with warmth ― firm when he needs to be and gentle when it matters. Every word he’s given me helped shape who I am, and it’s a standard I’ll carry forward,” he added.
In the photo, Paik looks noticeably slimmer but still all smiles. While he’s faced a spate of recent controversies, the reunion with Kwon’s family ― and their easy laughter ― drew fresh attention and support from fans online.
Kwon closed his note by saying, “Thank you for every moment you worked hard for us. I wish you good health and days filled with happiness.”
A polarizing figure during his “Alley Restaurant” appearance for his early lack of diligence, Kwon later overhauled his operations and has since been running a steadier shop ― a turnaround many viewers continue to cheer on.
