SBS’s Friday-Saturday hit "Taxi Driver 3" (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Kang Bo-seung) follows the clandestine Rainbow Taxi company and driver Kim Do-gi as they carry out vigilante-for-hire justice for the wronged. Now in its third week, the series just notched a new ratings high and ranked No. 1 across scripted and unscripted in FUNdex’s TV Buzz for the first week of December, while racking up a staggering 107 million cumulative video views across SBS’s official social channels.
Ahead of episode 7 on the 12th, the show unveiled Kim Do-gi’s latest alter ego: “Lorenzo Kim,” instantly stealing the spotlight.
“Lorenzo Kim” arrives as a sports agent who scouts promising Korean volleyball talents and launches them onto the global stage―a so-called “Midas touch” kingmaker credited with minting international stars. Even before the season premiered, writer Oh Sang-ho teased this would be one of the personas he was most curious to see on screen―and the reveal of “Lorenzo Do-gi” lives up to the hype.
In newly released stills, Do-gi channels peak Italian finesse: sleek pomade, a luxe three-piece suit, and a rakish scarf to match. Trading in his usual Rainbow Taxi for a vintage classic car, he radiates effortless elegance. Inside a volleyball arena, he studies players with laser focus―radar gun in hand―exuding a quiet authority that turns heads.
Episode 7 finds Do-gi and the Rainbow Heroes digging into a 15-year-old “no-body” homicide tied to the Jingwang University men’s volleyball team: the disappearance of Park Min-ho (played by Lee Do-han). When they uncover links to ongoing match-fixing, the team flips the script, setting a trap to track Min-ho―and to bring down the villains who’ve kept victims in agony for a decade and a half.
Producers tease that Lee Je-hoon will unveil a whole new facet as “Lorenzo Do-gi.” After flexing his English and Japanese earlier this season, he’s adding Italian to the mix this time around. From his chameleonic alter-ego work to all-out action, the team promises a cathartic ride―episode 7 and 8 are built to satisfy.
"Taxi Driver 3" airs tonight (the 12th) at 9:50 p.m. KST.
