Sung Si-kyung's Agency Shares Why the Singer Declines to Press Charges Against Former Manager

Singer Sung Si-kyung has addressed why he won’t pursue punishment for his former manager after police decided not to refer the case to prosecutors.

Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo Police Station said it would not forward the complaint against the ex-manager, identified only as A, who had been accused of embezzlement. Investigators cited the artist’s company not expressing an intent to press charges and the complainant’s inability to substantiate the allegations.

In a statement, Sung’s label SK Jaewon clarified that the probe stemmed from a complaint filed by an unidentified third party alleging embezzlement and aggravated economic crimes. The company distanced itself from that filing.

“We’ve built a long-standing relationship of trust with the former manager and want this situation resolved as peacefully as possible,” Sung’s team said. “Our top priority is restoring the situation for anyone affected. We will fully cooperate so apologies and compensation can proceed in whatever way each party prefers.”

The label added that it had been handling the matter discreetly before learning a third party had gone to the police, and urged the public to refrain from speculation or unfounded assumptions.

The issue first surfaced internally when the company determined the manager had breached its trust while employed. Rumors later suggested he had diverted concert tickets and invitations to the resale market; those claims were not substantiated by police.

Sung previously wrote on social media that it was painful to watch trust collapse with someone he had considered family. Separate from the dispute, he’s continuing with scheduled activities, including a year-end concert run at Seoul’s KSPO Dome from Dec. 25 to 28.
