Jung Woo-sung Sidesteps Personal Questions at 'Made in Korea' Press Conference
Jung Woo-sungActor Jung Woo-sung kept his answers brief when pressed about his private life at the launch event for his first lead project since controversy over an alleged out-of-wedlock child.

On the morning of Dec. 15, the Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea' held a press conference at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas hotel’s 5th-floor Grand Ballroom in Samseong-dong, Gangnam. Cast members Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, Woo Do-hwan, Seo Eun-soo, Won Ji-an, Jung Sung-il, Kang Gil-woo, Roh Jae-won, and Park Yong-woo joined director Woo Min-ho.

Set in 1970s South Korea―a moment of turmoil and takeoff―'Made in Korea' follows Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), a man intent on turning the state into a profit engine to seize power, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), who doggedly pursues him to the brink. It marks Woo Min-ho’s first series after films like 'Harbin,' 'The Man Standing Next,' and 'Inside Men,' and the much-anticipated pairing of Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung.

During the event, a reporter asked Jung whether the chaos around changes in his family status made it difficult to focus on filming―and how he hopes viewers will receive the show. Looking momentarily taken aback, Jung reached for the mic.

“I really hope this lands as a fun, engaging series,” he said. “I understand what you’re asking, but today is about 'Made in Korea' and the many artists here. I’d prefer not to discuss personal changes. I hope you understand.”

A similar question went to actor Jung Sung-il, who recently confirmed his divorce after nine years of marriage. “Our director, crew, and cast approached this with joy, energy, and passion. We gave it our all,” he said, steering the focus back to the series. “I simply did my best on this project. Nothing else got in the way.”

'Made in Korea' premieres on Disney+ with two episodes on Wednesday, Dec. 24, followed by two more on Dec. 31. One episode drops Jan. 7, 2026, and the finale arrives Jan. 14―six episodes in total.
