'Culinary Class Wars' Returns: Season 2 Drops Today on Netflix
Culinary Class WarsNetflix’s Korean cooking survival hit "Culinary Class Wars 2" finally makes its debut today.

The fiery kitchen showdown returns with underdog “Black Spoon” chefs, out to upend the hierarchy on flavor alone, facing off against elite “White Spoon” celebrity chefs determined to defend their status. Episodes 1-3 premiere today.

Season 1 became the first Korean unscripted series to top Netflix’s Global Top 10 for TV (Non-English) for three consecutive weeks, and it sparked a full-on craze at home and abroad―also ranking No. 1 in Gallup Korea’s “Koreans’ Favorite TV Programs” survey in September 2024. Thanks to that breakout success, Season 2 has been one of Netflix’s most buzzed-about returns even before launch.

This time, the face-off gets even bigger. The season’s most-talked-about mystery―the two “Hidden White Spoon” star chefs teased with their identities concealed―will finally be revealed.

The lineup of 18 White Spoon chefs includes two-Michelin-star Jun Lee; Son Jong-won, who’s earned Michelin stars in both Korean and Western cuisine; Korea’s first master of temple food, Venerable Seonjae; 57-year Chinese-cuisine veteran Hu Deokjuk; 47-year French-cuisine legend Park Hyo-nam; celebrity chefs Jung Ho-young, Sam Kim, and Raymon Kim; MasterChef Korea Season 4 judge Song Hoon; and Korean Food Battle Season 3 winner Lim Sung-geun. On top of that, the two Hidden White Spoon chefs will drop in to shake up the bracket.

A “twist rule,” kept under wraps until now, also comes to light―and it’s set to shock the arena.

The Black Spoon roster looks more dangerous than ever. Chefs who might’ve qualified as White Spoon last season are suiting up, alongside a Pyongyang cold-noodle phenom, a tonkatsu ace whose cutlets draw lines around the block, a flap-steak savant, a tteokbokki master, a hand-pulled-noodle king, and even a five-star kimchi maestro―setting the table for a scorcher of a class war.

"Culinary Class Wars 2" premieres worldwide on Netflix today (Dec. 16) at 5 p.m. KST with Episodes 1?3―and a game-changing reveal that could flip the entire competition.
