Shin Si-a says she’s feeling the butterflies as she steps into her first big-screen romance.

At a press screening and Q&A held Dec. 22 at CGV Yongsan in Seoul for the film "Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight", Shin shared, “I debuted through film and have a special love for the medium. I’m thrilled to meet audiences again with a new project as we head into release.”

"Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" follows Seo-yoon (Shin Si-a), a high-schooler with anterograde amnesia who loses the previous day’s memories each night, and Jae-won (Choo Young-woo), the classmate who gently pieces them back together, as the two fight to hold on to each other―and their memories. The youth melodrama adapts the hit Japanese novel of the same name, which has sold 1.3 million copies worldwide, adding a distinctly Korean sensibility.

In the film, Shin plays Seo-yoon opposite Choo Young-woo’s Jae-won, charting a tender young love tested by memory loss.

Asked about portraying anterograde amnesia, she said, “I treated it as just one aspect of Seo-yoon. Rather than trying to ‘play’ the condition, I focused on the person―on showing her many colors.”

After a breakout big-screen debut in the 2022 action thriller "The Witch," Shin returns three years later with a romance―and she credits her co-star for helping her lock in.

“Choo Young-woo really anchored the emotion, so I could sink in naturally,” she said. “He caught everything I threw at him and drew out new sides of me. We influenced each other in the best way, on and off set. It reminded me how crucial the right partner is.”

The film opens Dec. 24 in Korea.
