Seo Ye-ji is heading to the stage next year, marking her first-ever theater role.
Her agency Sublime confirmed that Seo will star in the play "Hymn of Death" as Yun Sim-deok, the famed soprano whose brief, sensational life captivated 1920s Korea. Known for TV hits like "Eve," "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," and "Save Me," as well as the film "Recalled," Seo is making her long-awaited stage debut since her screen breakout.
Set amid a time of upheaval in the 1920s, "Hymn of Death" traces a sweeping love story and the artists' uncompromising pursuit of freedom.
The production runs from Jan. 30 to March 2 at the M Theater in Seoul’s Sejong Center.
