Released Dec. 29, the visual spotlights Eun-ho (Kim) and Kang Si-yeol (Lomon) in an ultra-close gaze that promises all the butterflies.
Billed as a zippy fantasy rom-com, the series refreshes gumiho lore with a Gen Z nine-tailed fox who wants nothing to do with becoming human and a gloriously self-adoring human whose world collides with hers. It blends brisk, witty storytelling that hops between reality and imagination. Fans are especially buzzing over the pairing: “rom-com queen” Kim returns about a year and eight months after "Lovely Runner," while rising star Lomon, who broke out to global audiences in "All of Us Are Dead," joins her.
After early teases of an enemies-to-lovers vibe, the new poster hints at a definite shift in their dynamic.
In the image, Eun-ho rests in Kang Si-yeol’s embrace as a snowy white tail―marking her as a gumiho―wraps protectively around them. Her unexpectedly tender, faraway gaze feels like a turning point. Having roamed the human world for 900 years without ever turning human, Eun-ho may be on the verge of a fate-changing encounter with Si-yeol.
Kim plays Eun-ho, a Gen Z gumiho who’d rather not become human. She sidesteps good deeds in case they tip her over that line, and avoids truly terrible ones to protect her thousand-year powers―until an unforeseen incident upends her carefully managed life. Lomon takes on Kang Si-yeol, a world-class soccer forward with swagger but zero laziness; a star striker for a top overseas club, his picture-perfect life gets an unexpected “tackle” from the gumiho Eun-ho. Their fresh pairing promises offbeat, magical chemistry.
"Human from Today" follows "Taxi Driver 3" on SBS and premieres Jan. 16 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
