Shin Soo-hyun Takes a Dark Turn in Netflix's 'Cashero'
Shin Soo-hyun
Shin Soo-hyun’s first-ever villain turn is making waves.

"Cashero", which premiered on Netflix on Dec. 26, tracks a paycheck-to-paycheck office worker, Sang-ung (JUNHO), who discovers his strength grows in direct proportion to the cash in his pocket―pitting everyday expenses against newfound superpowers in a grounded, money-meets-hero twist.

Shin plays Lee Soo-eun, a researcher at Beomha Group. Once a run-of-the-mill lab employee, she’s injected with a superpower-enhancing drug in the back half of the series and emerges as a stealth antagonist.

Armed with blink-and-you-miss-it speed, she uses her powers to strip Sang-ung of his clothes and wallet to spring a trap, and operates in the shadows behind Jonathan (Lee Chae-min) to thwart the heroes―ratcheting up the tension late in the game.

For her villain debut in "Cashero", Shin leans into an icy, near-inhuman gaze that gives the character real dimension. Her brutal, tragic end at Jonathan’s hands leaves a punch that lingers long after the episode ends.

Showing range from ordinary office worker to a cool-headed villain who wields her abilities with precision, Shin is keeping busy: she’s currently appearing in KBS2’s weekend drama ‘Our Golden Days’ and is already filming her next project―setting her up for a big 2026.
