Broadcast live from SBS Prism Tower in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul at 8:50 p.m. on the 30th, the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards honored "Island Hero" with its ESG Award.
SBS has long championed variety shows that do more than deliver laughs, shining a spotlight on meaningful social issues that don’t always get their due. In that spirit, the network presented the ESG Award to recognize programming that drives positive change.
Accepting on behalf of the show, Lim said, “We had such a special time thanks to the kindness and sincerity of the residents of Somodo,” expressing his gratitude to the island community that welcomed the team.
The series has breathed life into a small, often-overlooked island―sharing warmth with locals and viewers alike along the way.
“This feels even more meaningful because it’s an award we share with everyone who was part of it,” Lim added. SBS variety also pledged to keep up its commitment to sustainable, community-minded storytelling.
