Singer Kim Da-hyun is moving into acting with the film ‘Florence Knockin' On You.’
At a special screening held at 5 p.m. on January 3 at CGV Yongsan in Seoul, Kim shared her ambitions as an actor and offered heartfelt thanks to her co-star Kim Min-jong.
“He’s the first person I’ve ever called ‘Dad,’” she said with a laugh, explaining how Kim Min-jong guided her on set. “During table reads and filming, he was so thoughtful―walking me through the emotions and giving me encouragement. Thanks to him, I was able to finish strong.”
“I watched the screening with butterflies,” she added. “I felt I truly gave it my all, and if I’m given more chances, I’d love to keep challenging myself with acting.”
Kim Min-jong, who plays the lead character Seok-in, returned the praise: “Kim Da-hyun has what it takes to succeed not only as a singer but as an actor as well,” he said, keeping the mood warm and celebratory.
‘Florence Knockin' On You’ is a lyrical road movie about Seok-in, a man worn down by a forced resignation and listlessness, who heads to Florence Knockin' On You, Italy, and unexpectedly reunites with his former lover Yoojung (played by Ye Ji-won). Kim Da-hyun plays Seok-in’s daughter.
Sharing a New Year’s update with fans, Kim Da-hyun teased a packed 2026: beyond the film, she’ll embark on her first-ever nationwide solo tour in 12 years since her music debut, themed “Dream.”
The “Dream” tour kicks off March 7 at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall in Seoul, then heads to Busan’s KBS Hall on March 14 and Yeungnam University’s Cheonma Art Center in Daegu on March 28, with more stops to follow.
“Catch ‘Florence Knockin' On You’ in theaters first on January 7,” she said, “and I’ll see you on the road starting March 7 for the tour.”
