"Squid Game" capped its final season with another nod from U.S. critics.
At the 31st Critics Choice Awards, held July 4 (local time) at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, the series beat out contenders including "Acapulco" and "Last Samurai Standing" to win TV’s Best Foreign-Language Series.
The TV categories list shows by title rather than season, but based on the ceremony timing and release window, the honor effectively recognizes Season 3.
The Netflix phenomenon has now collected three Best Foreign-Language Series trophies at this show, plus one acting prize. In 2022, Season 1 became the first Korean drama to take the award, with Lee Jung-jae also winning Best Actor. Season 2 repeated last year with another Best Foreign-Language Series win. This latest victory caps Season 3’s run.

Season 3 follows Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who reenters the deadly competition on a personal mission only to lose his closest friend; the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who slips back into the games under a shroud of secrecy; and the last survivors as they face their final reckoning. Released June 27 last year, the swan-song season hit No. 1 in 93 countries and held the global top spot for nine consecutive days.
The Critics Choice Awards are presented by the Critics Choice Association (CCA), a group of roughly 600 North American TV and film critics and journalists.
