Yihyun, leader of P Nation’s first girl group Baby DONT Cry, is stepping in as the show’s new host. She’ll front a three-MC team alongside returning emcees SHINYU of TWS and EJ of &TEAM.
Known for powerhouse vocals and commanding stage presence, Yihyun has quickly become the group’s visual center and anchor. She first caught attention on SBS’ "Fantastic Duo" as the “Little IU,” then officially debuted in June 2024 as Baby DONT Cry’s leader, making a bold first impression. In November, she showcased a more mature sound with the group’s second digital single, “I DONT CARE.”
Yihyun already tested the waters on Inkigayo as a special MC in July and November, drawing praise for smooth live handling and quick, charming reactions. With her full-time appointment, fans can expect even more confident, polished hosting from the rising star.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Inkigayo as an MC―it’s something I’ve dreamed of since before debut,” Yihyun said, noting her personal connection to SBS after first appearing on Fantastic Duo as a kid. “I’m grateful to the production team for trusting me with this opportunity. I’ll bring energy and accountability every week for both viewers and artists.”
The new-look Inkigayo with Yihyun at the helm will air live Sunday, January 11 at 3:10 p.m. KST.
