On the Jan. 5 episode of SBS’ "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny", "Parasite" actress Jang Hye-jin dropped by as a special MC and gave a sweet shout-out to her longtime best friend, comedian Kim Sook.
Kim Gu-ra kicked off the banter by noting how in-sync the duo is, joking that even their eyes look alike now. The two shared they’ve been tight since high school, bonding in their senior year at an acting academy over the same ambitions.
“Back then, she was the standout ― best in acting, best in class,” Kim Sook said, introducing Jang with pride.
When Seo Jang-hoon asked if Kim Sook used to be shy, she quipped, “I debuted right away while she was still unknown ― so I kept my distance,” leaning into the friendly ribbing.
Jang then revealed Kim Sook played fairy godmother when she headed to the Cannes Film Festival with Parasite. “I didn’t have a stylist at the time, so we went to a boutique Sook knew. We tried on a bunch of gowns together, and she helped me pick,” Jang said, thanking her friend.
Kim Sook added, “It was tough to get dress sponsorships back then, so I stepped in ― and she looked gorgeous,” beaming at the memory.
