Screen Legend Ahn Sung-ki Posthumously Awarded Korea's Highest Cultural Honor

On the afternoon of Jan. 5, the Geumgwan (Gold Crown) Order of Cultural Merit―posthumously awarded by the South Korean government―was placed at the memorial altar for the late Ahn Sung-ki at the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul’s Seocho District.
Ahn Sung-ki was rushed to Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Seoul on Dec. 30 after suffering cardiac arrest and had been treated in the ICU. He died on Jan. 5 at 9 a.m. with his family by his side. He was 74. (Photo Pool)
