Cha Tae-hyun Gets Emotional About Son Soo-chan; Kim Do-hoon Says His Teen Brother Loves the Shout-Out
Whenever Possible

On the Jan. 6 episode of SBS’s "Whenever Possible," actors Cha Tae-hyun and Kim Do-hoon teamed up as “gap” friends on the show.

Kim Do-hoon opened with a polite intro: “I’m Kim Do-hoon, currently acting,” while Cha Tae-hyun joked, “Hi, I’m Cha Tae-hyun ― doing a bit of everything,” flashing a peace sign to the camera.

The duo, who starred together in the hit series "Moving," said they really did drop by whenever their schedules allowed. Cha also teased that Season 2 is filming this year with a release planned for next year. “Stay healthy till then. Hang in there. We’ll be back to promote it,” he quipped, hinting at a return visit as guest buddies.

Kim, who has a younger brother in his first year of high school, admitted, “Lately I’ve been scolding him a lot. He’s in that teenage phase. He’s not afraid of Mom and Dad, but he seems a little scared of me.”

When the hosts wondered if he should avoid talking about his sibling on air, Kim laughed it off: “Surprisingly, he loves it when I talk about him.”

Hearing that, Cha lit up: “I can finally call our Soochan by his name on air,” he said, sharing a sweet update about his son. He explained that the era of referring to his child in the third person was over. “He used to text me just ‘Yeah’ or ‘Mm,’ but then he sent two full lines. I was so moved I took a screenshot and sent it to my wife. It felt like a miracle,” Cha joked, delighting the studio with the small but heartfelt milestone.
