Speaking at the “Next on Netflix 2026 Korea” showcase at the Conrad Seoul on the morning of Jan. 21, the actress reflected on reuniting with the acclaimed filmmaker for the Netflix feature “Possible Love,” roughly 20 years after their Cannes-winning collaboration “Secret Sunshine.”
“Twenty years ago on ‘Secret Sunshine,’ the set was intense and relentless,” Jeon recalled. “For ‘Possible Love,’ I promised myself to just enjoy it ― and it turned out to be a shoot filled with laughter.”
She added, “Jo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong brought such bright, positive energy that it was truly healing on set. Usually when you’re exhausted, you want to wrap and go home, but I woke up wanting to get to work as fast as possible ― it was that restorative. Even Director Lee seemed a little surprised by it, and he joked he’s become nicer.”
The event spotlighted Netflix’s 2026 strategy and slate, with Korea Content VP Kang Dong-han in attendance alongside series, film and unscripted leads Bae Jong-byung, Kim Tae-won and Yoo Ki-hwan. Cast representatives also joined for a panel, including Jeon Do-yeon for “Possible Love,” Nam Joo-hyuk for “The East Palace,” Son Ye-jin for “The Scandal,” Park Eun-bin for “The Wonder Fools,” and chef Ahn Sung-jae for “Culinary Class Wars.”
Directed by Lee Chang-dong and starring Jeon Do-yeon, Sol Kyung-gu, Jo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong, “Possible Love” follows two very different married couples whose lives become entangled, sending fractures through all four of their everyday routines. The film is slated for a Q4 release this year on Netflix.
“I’m just as curious as anyone to see how it turns out,” Jeon said. “I hope it becomes a chance to discover a new side of myself.”
