Netflix’s animated hit "KPop Demon Hunters" is officially in the Oscar race.
On the 22nd (local time), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) unveiled the final slate of nominees for the 98th Academy Awards, with "KPop Demon Hunters" securing spots in Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Golden.”
Fresh off Golden Globes wins for Animated Feature and Original Song, "KPop Demon Hunters" now sets its sights on the Oscars. “Golden” is widely seen as a frontrunner in Original Song, while Animated Feature is shaping up to be a fierce showdown with "Zootopia 2."

Directed by Korean Canadian filmmaker Maggie Kang, "KPop Demon Hunters" follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who moonlight as secret guardians protecting the world beyond the spotlight. Since its June 20 debut, the film has become Netflix’s most-watched title ever, crossing 300 million cumulative views across films and series on the platform.
Main theme “Golden,” co-composed by EJAE, dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for eight straight weeks at No. 1.
The 98th Academy Awards will take place March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
